Our Philosophy of Care
At Great Lakes Dental Group, we believe great dentistry goes beyond clinical care—it’s about creating a positive, personalized experience for every patient.
Our approach is centered on:
- Taking the time to truly listen to your needs and concerns
- Building trust through honest communication and transparency
- Delivering care that meets the highest standards of quality
- Creating a supportive and comfortable environment
- Continuously improving through advanced technology and ongoing education
Preparing for Your Appointment
To ensure the best possible experience, please:
- Bring a valid ID and your dental insurance information (if applicable)
- Forward any recent dental X-rays from a previous provider, if available
- Arrive a few minutes early if you have not completed your forms in advance
What Happens at Your First Visit
Your initial appointment is designed to give us a complete understanding of your oral health. During your visit, we may:
- Review your medical and dental history
- Take digital or panoramic X-rays, if needed
- Perform a comprehensive dental exam
- Conduct an oral cancer screening
- Evaluate your gums, jaw (TMJ), and overall oral health
- Discuss any treatment recommendations and next steps
In many cases, we will also begin a professional cleaning during the same visit, depending on your needs and schedule.
Insurance & Payment Options
We strive to make dental care accessible and straightforward. While we work with many insurance providers and will gladly submit claims on your behalf, coverage varies by plan.
Any portion not covered by insurance is the patient’s responsibility. We offer multiple payment options for your convenience, including:
- Cash and check
- Credit and debit cards
- CareCredit financing
- In-house financing options
We are also in-network with:
- UnitedHealthcare
- United Concordia
- Humana
- Aetna
- Delta Dental
- Cigna
If you have questions about your coverage or payment options, our team is happy to help.
Appointment Policy
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows us to accommodate other patients who may need care.
